It analyzed the different technology processes, artifacts and knowledge and how they affect job performance in a manufacturing organization, and also how technology can be properly managed for better results.
A case study design employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches; mainly questionnaire survey and in-depth interview methods was used to collect data from 148 respondents in Movit products ltd. The study shows that job performance is influenced by technology, and job performance is checked by technological process, knowledge and artifacts. However findings suggest that manufacturing organizations are reluctant in training employees in the use of new technology. In cases where training was observed, it was mainly as a result of pressure from employees and standards commission. Sufficient training, apprenticeship and development should be given to employees by organisations before new technology introduced in order to benefit from their investments.
