Abstract
This research is about the effects of financial management practices and Performance of public secondary schools. The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the effects of financial management practices and performance of public secondary schools in Bukedea district and the specific objectives were; examine the relationship between budgeting and performance of public secondary schools, assess the relationship between book keeping and performance of public secondary schools, asses the relationship between financial reporting and performance of public secondary schools. The case study was schools within Bukedea District. A cross sectional study was carried out using both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection. Questionnaires and Document reviews were used as the tools for collecting data. The results from the research findings show that there is a relationship between financial management practices and performance of public secondary schools.
