Abstract
The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of inventory management on customer satisfaction of Muto hardware in Masaka Municipality. The objectives of the study were to examine the effect of re- order level on customer satisfaction among firms, establish the effect of stocking level on customer satisfaction among firms and to investigate the impact of inventory lead times on customer satisfaction among firms. The study adopted the use of quantitative descriptive design. Data was collected using a questionnaire, and during data collection purposive sampling method was used. Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies were used to analyze data as a sample size of 44 respondents was used. The study concluded that the Inventory management is an area of study concerned in the functionality of managing an inventory. The researcher recommended that whether or not a perpetual/continuous stock control system is maintained, there should be continuous annual stocks take at the company. Lastly, further studies were suggested on the following areas as: the effect of materials handling techniques on employees’ efficiency in private organizations and the relationship between labour turnover and employees’ efficiency among private organizations in Uganda.
