Abstract
The study focused on the role of business incubation services in enhancing the performance of entrepreneurial businesses. The study thought to determine whether business incubation services have an impact on entrepreneurial businesses in terns of capacity building, growth and profitability. The study employed a descriptive research design where field data from respondents in Nakasero area was collected using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The population for the study was 120 and the sample size basing on Krejcie and Morgan table was 92 but the actual respondents were 76 which gave 82% response rate. The findings indicated that there is a moderate strong positive and a significant relationship between training management skills and Performance of businesses in Nakasero area, that there is a moderate weak positive and a significant relationship between Access to financial services and Performance of businesses in Nakasero area and that there is a moderate strong positive and a significant relationship between marketing assistances and Performance of businesses in Nakasero area. In conclusion training management skills help businesses with networking activities, marketing assistance, access to bank loans, loan funds and guarantee programs, access to angel investors or venture capital and also development of skills to run and manage business operations. The study recommends that the government should supplement efforts of business incubation centres and set up more incubation centres in all areas of the country especially the rural areas such that business failure reduces. The clients are also recommended to attend workshops and other training services that may be availed by the incubation centres so as to improve on their entrepreneurial skills. The researcher recommends that owners of businesses should use the acquired knowledge in running their business operations win confidence of their customers.
