1 the Effect of Outsourcing Strategies on Organizational Performance: a Case Study of Uganda National Roads Authority (Unra).

Abstract

The study examined the effect of outsourcing strategies on Organizational performance in relation to the roads construction industry. The researcher developed hypotheses based on Transaction Cost Economic Theory (TCE), Resource-Based Theory (RBV), Knowledge-Based View of outsourcing and the Authority attained cost efficiency from standardization and financial risk transfer and were tested using a 6 month study with a study population of 60 respondents from a single entity (UNRA) outsourcing their road construction operations.

The researcher therefore found out that the authority can be in position to further increase productivity levels, improve quality of products and improve it cost efficiency in the long run through maintaining its outsourcing strategies of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) and Information Technology Process Outsourcing (ITO) since this effect is highly stronger for the multinational authority.

The study concluded that the world has embraced the phenomenon of outsourcing strategies and companies have adopted its principles and approaches in the new global business arena in order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in resource usage in the event of expanding operations in other areas so as to attain cost efficiency and be guaranteed quality assurance.
