Abstract
This research sought to investigate whether recruitment and selection processes have an actual impact on employee performance in an organization. Recruitment is the process by which the management of an organization follows various strategies and methods in order to attract applicants to apply for a specific job and the selection process is carried out and jobs are given to the best applicant.
This research in chapter one showed the objectives of the study which are to examine the recruitment and selection processes at Orange Uganda Ltd, to establish the relationship between recruitment and selection processes to the employee performances in private organizations in Uganda and the last objective as to investigate the extent to which the recruitment and selection team are ethical and professional in the recruitment and selection processes in the private organizations.
The literature review showed the details of all these objectives and will address the research questions that are in stated in question form of the objectives of the study. This chapter showed primary reasons for using certain approaches and processes there relationships and the teams were discussed with their strengths and weaknesses which will be clearly stated in this research. This research showed how employers and selection teams can avoid hiring the wrong applicant for the job.
The methodology was also a detailed structure that shows the data collection methods that were used to collect the respondent’s results using observation method and questionnaire method to collect the data with both primary and secondary data and closed and open questions that need to be analyzed with confidentiality and professionalism.
The researcher found out that most of the respondents were externally recruited and also involved in the recruitment process and the selection process was also determined to be well installed and functioning at the company and the teams of recruitment and selection were proved be ethical and professional with a good evaluation process for the employee performance.
This research concluded with the remarks from the respondents that recruitment and selection processes are relevant to the employee performance at Orange Uganda Ltd and the relationship between recruitment and selection processes were determined to be very little being that its only characteristics that relate them but in others they are different according to the respondents and the recruitment and selection process were properly stated and proved to be part of the system at Orange Uganda.
The case study of this research is Orange Uganda Telecommunications Ltd which deals with the communications system in Uganda and has a very high employee size that can yield proper results for the study hence collection of data and analysis will be done at Orange Uganda Telecommunications Ltd.
