Abstract
This proposal documents the work done during the development process of the system to be used to manage the information of the stock and sales at Phone Garage in Kampala. The research aimed at replacing the method of using books at Phone Garage with a computerized database information system.
The information regarding Phone Garage and its workforce was collected, then the current method used was analyzed and designs were made. The design output included physical database structures, Data Flow Diagrams, Entity Relationship models and GUI designs.
Implementation of the information system was done using html, PHP, Xampp, Google chrome and MySQL. The method used to design test and implement the system was the system development life cycle, which was used in parallel with prototyping.
This information system’s functionality is running well to execute the required system functionality. The graphical user interfaces are easy to use and security has been implemented in the system using a login page controlling two types of account levels with passwords. Additional functionality implemented in the system includes, among others, report generation, notification display in case errors and stock getting finished.
