Biography

Dr Denis Musinguzi is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Governance, Peace and International Studies, School of Arts and Social Sciences, at Uganda Martyrs University. He holds a PhD in Governance and Peace Studies from Uganda Martyrs University, in collaboration with the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, which was funded under the prestigious UPEACE-IDRC PhD Fellowship. He also holds a Master’s degree in Ethics and Public Management; Post-Graduate Diploma in Education; and a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy, Hons) Degree, all from Makerere University, Uganda. Dr Musinguzi has served as National Consultant for European Union and GIZ (EU-GIZ), Civil Society Strengthening Programme (CUSP); and Consultant for Hivos (Uganda), Christian Aid, South Sudan; Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) South Sudan; Netherlands Institute for Multi-Party Democracy (NIMD), Uganda; Oxfam Novib, Uganda; Plan International, Uganda; and SOS Uganda. He is an External Examiner for United Nations-Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE); University of Johannesburg, South Africa; Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, Makerere University Business School; School of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Nkumba University; Faculty of Business and Development Studies, Gulu University; and School of Postgraduate and Research, Mountains of the Moon University. He holds research interest in the areas of public administration and management, public policy analysis, human rights, transitional justice and peace building, capacity building for development and youth empowerment. He has contributed chapters to academic books, articles to refereed journals.
